Dick and Jane Quilt

My good friend and neighbor had a little boy in July and with it being boy #4 she did not really need anything, so I made a quilt. I have not made a quilt in a long time, and I realized why as I was making it as well. I realized that with clothing making it is pretty instant gratification, I can make a dress in an hour or two. And these are a little more time consuming, but they are so precious at the same time so well worth it. I love this Dick and Jane fabric!

The Butterfly Dress

This cute dress I got from Sewing in no mans Land. I could copy everything she makes, she does a really good job and is very generous with her patterns. This dress is called the Butterfly dress, because of the cute butterfly like sleeves. Go check out the pattern here and she has a really cute headband that she made that is adorable.

I do love these buttons< but am still trying to figure out how to perfect it a little more.

This one I made into a tunic to wear with leggins. I put a in the back instead of on the front this time.

Jumper for Ellie

My Sister Kim has 7 kids 5 boys and 2 girls. Here youngest girl is 5 and is still at a fun age to make things for. So last fall we went to Elaine's Quilt Block and picked out this cute fabric, so Kim could make Ellie a dress. Well I can't even imagine how crazy, hectic, busy life is with a 14 year old down to a 2 year old. Needless to say she finally let me make the jumper and it turned out really cute. I think these colors are cute, because she could wear all year long. How cute would it be with come cowboy boats in the fall!

Chevron Tray

Chevron is so popular right now and I have to say that although I have none in my house right now, I do love it. So when I saw this I thought it would be the perfect little thing to add some chevron into our none chevron home. I love Bakers Twine, I have looked to buy it many times but the price tag always turns me off. I saw this make your own Bakers Twine and knew this was for me. Go here for a video tutorail, so you can make your own.

Playing Mother

Lucy is obessesed with her little baby doll, she does everything a Mom would do for her baby. So I decided that Lucy would think it was pretty cool if they had some matching clothes as well. And she loves it, best part is that lucy can put them on all by herself.

For these little dolls you use hardly any fabric, so it is a great project for all those scraps, that you dont now what to do with.

I found this new blog called Elle Apparel and she has some great tutorial for some super cute clothes for ME. I would like to make some stuff so this is a great blog to get going on that.

I saw this pillow at V and Co. and just knew I had to have one. I have some summer pillow covers that i put out in the spring but love the texture of this and thought it would be a great little addition. Go here for her tutorail.

And here is mine. The color is a little darker then the other blues in my front room so I may need to try again. But it was a very simple pillow to make and I think I will definaly make another one.

Cupcake Gift Boxes

Are these not so cute! These would be such a cute little gift box for a mothers day gift. I just need to find something to put inside. Or they could be a really gorgeous display, on a white cake platter. The possibilities are endless with this adorable project.

Rufle Skirt

This Ruffled skirt is probably one of my favorite skirts that I have ever made. I made myself one back in November, but thought it would look even cuter on the Little Lady. I was right she looks so cute in it, and get so many compliments every time she wears it. So this one her is for my niece Ella, I just need to make baby sister one now. I love this skirt because it is my daughters one clothing item that she can wear all year round and is never really out of season.

I am in the process of making 2 more to put in my Etsy shop.

The Royal Wedding

For some reason I am a little obsessed with this cute Royal Couple. Maybe it's because Kate's a "Commoner" and it seems like a real life Cinderella story. Maybe it's because growing up Prince William was one of those huge posters I had hung in my closets - compliments of a friend, I did not buy it for myself. Or it could be because my husband and I live in London for a Semester. Who knows why really.

But just look at them, how could you not love them. I loved her dress and I loved how simply elegant she looked. Her dress was Simple, but gorgeous. And I really liked that she did not have on a huge necklace, it would have taken away from the dress and from herself. I don't think Prince William is just that attractive, but he does look very handsome in his uniform.

They do just look in love, and I think that is why I like them.

Brussel Sprouts

So lately we have been eating brussel sprouts and I think this is the first time in my life I can say that I eat them and love them. I realize with cooking anything can taste good as long as you make it good. I came across this recipe the other day at Out Best Bites and it looked very similar to how I make mine, except in the recipe you bake them. They get tender and a little crispy, the perfect combanation. Go HERE for the recipe. It could also be good with some chopped onion in it.

I also purchased there cookbook at Costco and I love it. I love that there are pictures of everything and for me I like to see what the food looks like before I make it. For some reason I think if it looks good it will taste good!

Face Lift

So my kitchen chairs needed a serious face lift. They look horrable, and i had been putting it off in hope that we could get some new one's. But reality set in and we will not be getting new chairs for a while. So I took matters into my own hands and used some of the many yards of oilcloth I have lying around and put some of it to use.

I used the green mums which I love. My husband on the other hand hates anything floral so he does not like them. I think they are a huge improvement and maybe if he hates the floral enough he'll buy me some new chairs.

Jane Eyre

I went and saw the new Jane Eyre last night with some of my sisters and I loved it. But I love showes like this, so how could I not love it. Jane Eyre is such a sad story, but one of love and virtue. This new version has a little more romance, but I wish it would show them getting married at the end. I am always left wanting more.

Ruffle Apron

I thought this little apron turned out pretty cute! My Husband held it up and said "what's it supposed to cover?" really... have you never seen an apron like this, servers where them all the time at restraunts. But lets be honest it is mostly for looks right. But my husbands 11 year old niece liked it so i guess it was a success!!

Baby sleep Sack.

Are these not so cute, you could make an adorable version for either a boy or a girl. I also just love these in genral, bacause they are so easy and practical for babies. All of my kids have worn these for at least 6 months. So next time around I will be making some cute ones for the little one.
