Couture Cutie

So I saw this dress on the blog "Sewing in No Mans Lands". Kelly made this dress for Project run and play and I just loved it. I love the the design, the details, and the fabric choice - the colors are amazing.

Then I saw that she made another one with a tutorial found here to go with it.

So here is my version with a really sad and angry model to go with it.

Seriously Lucy is life really that bad??
Sorry about the horrible pictures.

My favorite part is definatly the back.

Here are a few more pictures.

Book Club

Since I can only do one thing at a time as far as extras go, I can either read or I can sew. It is so hard because I love to do both but if I want a happy home and a remotly clean home I can only do one at a time. It is also good because sometimes I get sick of doing crafts and just want to do nothing but read, so I crave both of them at diffrent times. My favorite books to read are silly romance books, simply because I can just read and don't have to even think I can picture this gorgeous women and extremly handsome man that end up happily ever after. simple, nerdy, but fun. So it is good for me to read the Book Club books because I always do enjoy them and am sometimes learning about something interesting. For this months Book Club we read "The Sweetness at the Bottom of a Pie" which was a fun mystery written from the perspective of an 11 year old girl. It is a pretty easy read, and a book I could put down (so i could keep up on things around the house a little) but it also makes it so took me a little longer to read.
Next Month is Huck Finn so I am trying to gear up to read it.

The Coat!!

I bought this coat pattern on Etsy and have only made only the one coat so far, but I will defiantly be making more in the future for this little lady. It is so cute and can be dressed up or down and keep her warm at the same time.
Yes, I love the tire pose as well.

It has a sting closure which is so cute, but three large buttons would be adorable as well. I think if you were making it for a baby I would defiantly opt for buttons.

Next year I would love to find a red plaid print.

She is super cheesy, these days with her big smile.

Race Car Crayons

So a few months ago a saw this idea to melt crayons and to put them in a mold to make some different shapes. Well i went on Amazon and saw all the fun and different shape options there are and could have gone crazy, so i just thought i would just start with one shape and of course the chosen shape was the race car.
I then found this box of crayons at the Dollar Store so I bought 3.

I organized them my color

Noah was my good little helper

Obviously a big color palette

I melted it in a pepsi can and it melted really quickly, with about an inch of boiling water.
I used a diffrent can for each color.
I was worried they would not melt because they are cheap and some websites said that the cheap ones dont melt, mine did.

I put them in the mold and then let it dry for a little while.

And Viola

They turned out pretty cute!!

Valentines Wreath

It being officially February now I thought I would share my one homemade Valentine decoration, which I just so happen to really love as well. And although I have overdone this style of wreath I really like the look of it.
This wreath is fairly inexpensive to make, butI am always shocked at how much styrofoam is at micheals or joannes so always use a 40% off coupon. I think I got this heart at Joannes as well as the fleece. I do love the color, it is such a fun POP in the cold and dreary month of February.
